An Undue Weight

From an interview with Hugh Laurie in this week’s Parade:

“[Laurie] has, however, spoken frankly about his battle with depression, for which he sought help in 1996.

“‘I wish I’d kept my mouth shut about that,’ Laurie says. ‘That’s an example of me throwing open the doors and trusting — and then coming downstairs and finding the TV is gone. Now an undue weight has been given to this aspect of my life.'”

This is how I feel about almost anything I say to almost anyone. Labelling seems pervasive.
