Not that strange, lately. I’ve been buying these local eggs from the same farm for a couple of years, and usually they are kind of on the small/medium side. But the last two cartons have contained from 4 to 8 eggs that are gigantic (ouch!) and most have been double-yolked.
It’s impossible to faithfully photograph a raw double-yolked egg after you’ve cracked it — it just looks like one big yolk. So I hard-boiled some of the eggs and took a photo of one of those. Go, hens! (My dog loves the yolk.)
